a "slip" is when the car is shifting gears, and it feels like you put it into neutral before the next gear. the car will rev, but not pull. sometimes it won't be very noticable. for instance, my car would slip at WOT from 2nd to 3rd. when i would get at the top of 2nd gear, it would take a second to kick into 3rd.

with my nice rebuilt piece of **** i ordered from ebay, 1st and 2nd shift ok, then when i get into 3rd, i have to rev it pretty high to get the car to move. a very noticable slip.

hope this helps. im sure someone else here could explain it better.

you should check out the transgo shift kit if you want some firmer feeling shifts. it'll be a noticable difference in shifting.

i had a b&m stage2 shift kit installed in my tranny and it would chirp em goin 1st to 2nd...but i wouldn't recommend the b&m kit. I've heard alot of people on here has problems with it. (not to mention my tranny died 6 months after install), but i heard transgo makes one that will probably extend the life of your tranny and firm up your shifts.

later§..

edited for her pleasure.....ewwww.

thanks man. I got a Vette servo not to long ago and plan on putting that in next month. that should increase the pressure on the 1-2 2-3 more to where i can feel it! When the trany is done with, im gunna get a new one from TCI or a pro shop. I see them for a little more then to rebuild mine and theres can hold up to 450 ft lbs
