transmission hp ratings...

alright, some of you have read about my project in the tech/general engine and the exhuast boards. i have for the most part decided on the motor for my "Mighty Mouse" small block. it will include a 355 with pro topline 235cc heads, big lift, blah, blah, blah! the main part of the motor is the d-3 procharger that will be forcing everything through with a bout 25lbs of boost. my question is, with the capabilties of over 1000 hp, what tranny should i go with. i have a guy in OK that can build me whatever i want for pretty reasonable. i need to know, however, if i should go with a:

powerglide
th350
th400

i know that it may seem strange to run an automatic but that's what i have decided. if any one could inform me on the gear ratio's of these trannies, suggested rearend gear w/ 28" tire, and the amount of hp to drive the tranny that would be appreciated as well.

whch trans?

Definately not the TH350. As I understand it, the PGs are really only recommended for cars under 3000lbs.

I'd definately vote for a well build TH400.

Good luck!

Axle/Gears: 3.07, 373, 4.10
gear ratios (stock)
th350 - first 2.52 second 1.52 third 1.00
th400 - 2.48 1.48 1.00
powerglide first 1.76 or 1.82 second 1.00

i'd put in a vote for a 350 or a 400.. a well built 350 is pretty much bullet proof same goes for a 400.. a 350 weighs less...
