INstalled corvette servo..1-2 still soft....2-3 firmer??

I installed the corvette servo and .5 boost valve but the 1-2 shift still feels soft. Did I do something wrong?? Funny thing is the 2-3 shift is firmer tho......

you need to change the 1-2 accumlator piston spring. hopefully some one will chime and let you know what color spring to use.

Is that the spring inside the 1-2 apply servo that I had to change from the stock servo to the new servo. In the instructions it says to install a blue spring along with the stock white spring but the kit I got had no new springs. I instaled the stock spring with the stock snap ring even tho it says to discard the snap ring. Any more help on where to get this spring???
Thanks!!

the 1-2 accumlator piston spring located by the valve body not the servo. it's probably broken.(that's very common) if it's not it still should be changed. the stock one sucks.

here's a pic.........

Get a white or plain "flat" wound spring in a 1990 & up unit (not the orange tapered) and install it with washers underneath the piston, so that the spring comes out of the hole by about 1/16 -1/8 of an inch, a slight preload is all you need. This will firm up the 1-2 WOT shift.

It is the spring pushing against the piston in the aluminum housing (2nd gear accumulator) held down with 3 bolts, next to the valve body.
