horrid noises
Once i get the car good and warmed up it will begin to make noises under de-acceleration. Click Click Click then when it stops.... CLUNK, and if i put it in reverb its about a 100 times worse. CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK. Then last night when i was driving up a hill wit 5 people in it in a parking garage it made some real bad clunks especialy when i was taking turns while going uphill and real slow. any opinions? Tranny output bushing? It jus got new u-joints and driveshaft seems nice n firm. No leakage around the tranny output shaft seal. I poped the diff cover n didnt see any significant damage on the ring and pinion along with the bushings. Im thinking about having a buddy of mine rebuild my 9 bolt wit some 3:73's for around $250 does this seem to be a good deal? I assume i would probably just get raped if i took it to a shop, but i was wondering if any of you could tell me what u paid to do a rebuild and new gears.

I cant say with out hering your noise in person but, it sounds like one of the times a cracked my pinion gear. it had cracks along each tooth valley, I took the cover off and looked several times but, could not find any problems. I figured one day that it had to be the diff. as I always have such good luck with them
well after I pulled out the pinion there it was. oh and it was just like yours no noise till I drove it and it warmed up a little but, mine was a 10 bolt so who knows

Are you sure it coming from the rear end? If not it could be a torque converter, mine made some really loud clicking, and evetually broke.
