3-2 downshift

I recently installed a transgo shift kit the one with the vette servo and boost valve everything went ok the video was helpful and I love the way it changed the shifts but now on decel to a stop during the 3-2 downshift I get a loud clunk from the trans any ideas what I did wrong I'm thinking I didn't setup the band correctly when I installed the servo but thought I would check before I pulled it apart

GM started installing an additional cushion spring in the servo's of Corvettes since '91, and you can find a similar spring in the SK700 Jr kit. This means, or course, that you would need to remove the "band adjustment" washers and re-install the original cushion spring as well. If you get the SK 700 Jr kit, it comes with a different type of band adjustment shim so that the servo cushion springs can still be used.

probably not as likely as what gmtech said, but your tranny mount might have broken as a result of the harder shifts and the tranny is moving around on decel. but in this case, probably not the tranny mount but something to check while under there.

thanks for the reply's it isn't the trans mount I replaced the broken factory one at the same time as I installed the shift kit I uses a poly one. so you are saying I should take the servo out and remove the thick and thin washers and reinstall the factory spring to solve this or do need to add more washers tighten the band I'm thinking that is my noise does that bad engage on the 3-2 downshift and why don't I here it on upshift

First, get the Trans-Go Junior Shift kit, and do the modifications it tells you to do on the band adjustment. Second, if the part throttle 1-2 shifts are to harsh, this kit can solve this too. In most cases it will solve the 3-2 downshift problem.

here's what I did I removed the vette servo and removed the adjusting washers I installed the factory sring in that place with the square snap ring that I was told to disgard in the vette servo and installed it back into the vehicle I hope it was the right thing to do. Now when I drive it I still get nice firm shifts but no clunk was this the right thing to do

Adding a cushion spring always helps, as you can see.
