bad vibration in 5th gear

very noticeable at highway speed in the sense that it shakes the car like the world is coming to an end. also noticeable at lower speeds but only if paying attention to it.......... i have isolated it to the trans, because if i drop to 4th gear it seems to go away.

i don't powershift the car, i don't do extreme speed runs and that stuff, more or less just drive i have made a half dozen or so passes down the strip, but never get any traction.

what may be the problem here?

btw the following items were replaced in efforts to kill the bad vibes,

tried 2 diff driveshafts.

replaced u-joints in shaft that will remain in the car

new trans mount

balanced tires

i need to know what to look for if i tear the trans apart, a friend and i have been inside a t5 before so thats not a problem at all

thanks in advance

vibe

You might try to see if the vibe is there in neutral and reving the engine to the rpm where the vibe occurs.

Do you have AC? I took off my AC belt and the vibe went away.
