after transmission install I NEED HELP!

i dropped the tranny to put in a new front seal because it blew out. everything's fine, TC is unmarked/cracked no sign of wear anywhere in the front. pop the seal in put the tranny back in no biggie. Hook up all the wires/cables and the shift bracket. everything looks fine. Start her up once im done and go to shift from park into reverse. its in neutral? i shift back to park and its in reverse? ok...then i shift to OD to move forward and its real loose and if u poke the shifter it comes out of that gear...whats up with the shifter? is the bracket underneath screwed up? or how do i adjust it?

disconnect the cable from underneath of the car. Put the shifter in park, then put the tranny in park with your hand on the bracket, then just adjust the bolts so you can move to cable down and put it on the bracket while its in park and it should be ok.

When you dropped the tranny, there was probably enough tension on the cable to shift it out of park. I can't remember which way the lever goes. Just put the car in park and get under the car and push the lever. Your only off by one gear. If the lever goes more than one click, you went the wrong way.

The nut that attaches the cable to the shifter lever on the trans is adjustable... You simply need to turn the shifter lever on the trans all the way clockwise (this will be park), then put your shifter in park, then reattach the cable to the trans shift lever..
