Tranny issues

My tranny is confusing me. Right now it seems like it doesnt want to go into gear and it shudders from 1st to second with some sounds that seem like grinding, like its having a hard time getting into 2nd. It could be low on fluid, but that isnt the problem right now it seems to be something else. Its supposedly "rebuilt" with a shift kit, but I am looking for suggestions before I punch the guy I bought the car from in the nose.

No suggestion here, just punch the guy because I think you tranny may be on it's last shift. But, I would make sure you have enough fluid in it first before you narrow out that being a problem. Low fluid could be the cause.

I am starting to think it may be the TC... perhaps the lockup? I am not sure. Gonna have a friend of my pops have a look at it. He is a tranny pro I guess... I hope its only the TC...

rebuilt don't mean a damn thing if the guy working on don't know what he was doing.. when i bought my car it had a rebuilt tranny that didn't work right at all, when we got it apart the case had almost been cut in half from the inside...
