Do all formulas come stock with posi?

I will be getting a 3rg gen very soon and Im trying to narrow my options down. I'm thinking of either a Formula from 89-92, a Z28 from 90-92, or a Trans Am from 90-92. I will be getting a 350 TPI. I was wondering if all of the formulas came stock with posi? And for that matter I am curious as to if the the other cars I listed have it too. I didnt know If i would just have to look at the Vin code or what. But I figured they should come with it seeing that they all would be 350's and it would just make sense. Please help, thanks.

The RPO code for the Limited Slip rear is G80 and was a option. Now most if not all of dealer ordered factory cars with a 350 had this option. But it may make sense to you but some people did not order this option on special order cars.

Cool, thanks. I'll look at the RPO code just to make sure though.

thats a good question. I thought that the ws6 came with posi and bigger sway bars ect. so that would make the formulas posi right? I may be wrong but, that was why the formula was a formula and not a reg. firebird with the v8 opt.

G80 RPO is the Lmited Slip option ONLY and has nothing to do if it a Formula, TA or any other model. Its just a another option.

My 87 formula, which i've owned since 91, came with 2.73 open rear and drum brakes. It also had the LG4. But it is a WS6 and has the springs and bars. People ordered these cars with all kinds of crazy combinations.

My friend has an 88 Formy, L03/auto and hes got a "one wheel deal" in it. I think hes got 3.08's. Now thats a gutless car.

92 FORMULA WS6

I am the original owner of a 92 Formula WS6 and yes my car was special ordered. It is posi, In 92 the WS6 package was all suspension, struts, shocks, sway bars, all by McPhearson < spelling??? Anyway, I've had it for 12 years now, and have no complaints. Still looks as good as she did new. Came stock with 3:23 gears, swapped her over to 3:73. added some bolt ons, and she's in the 13's @ over 100 mph. I say go with the Formula! A 92 if you can get it. The TPI that year was a speed density motor/ no mass air flow to deal with. Also the ground effects on the T/A tended to grab too much air and make them slower than the Formula. Sorry!, Just stating facts. Check out auto trader, I saw 3 nice 92 Formula's on there a couple of weeks ago. Good Luck!!!
