What should i ask for my.....help please?

I am very interested in selling my auto setup and use the money for a t56 swap. I would be selling a brand new, freshly rebuilt 700r4, ($1000 worth of labor and parts to make it as strong as could be), a brand new vigilante 2800rpm stall converter (with over a year left on the free stall change), and a brand new console megashifter, (never even installed), not including all of the other parts that go with it like x-member and trans lines . I was thinking atleast $1300. Is my price out of range? What would you do or what have you seen. Should i part it all out seperately? I would prefer a local buyer to avoid shipping and also to work with the professional who built the trans up for me. So my price i mentioned would not include shipping. This is not a classified ad, i know where that section of the boards is! I would just like some guidence please. I am open to constructive critism! lol Thanks for your time guys.

0...zero! Not even broken in yet. Same goes for the new crate motor it will be backing up. I was thinking of putting on the required 500 miles for break in and then selling it. Just an idea, and i was wondering what others have seen in the past as far as a sale like this. Not too sure what they go for. I know most pro built autos are going for $1000 and up, depending on who does the work. thanks

I think that sounds like a good price. I would not put the break in miles on it. Use "Brand New Zero Miles" as a selling feature. I am trying to sell my T-5 with 35,000 origonal miles on it with a new Pro 5.0 for $1000, but can't find anyone to buy.

You probably won't find a buyer for the T-5 at that price. They're too common and they're too easy to blow up.

No flames or anything.....just MHO.

Like J said, no flames but you can get a T56 for that price even though it'll have more miles and no Pro 5.0...

thats why I bought my t56, every one wanted 500.00 and up for t-5s with high miles and low mile ones were 800.00 up. got the t56 for 350.00 and fixed it for 100.00.

No flames taken. I have done my research on what to sell mine for. I have never seen a T-56 with low miles on it go for anything less than 1200. I am hoping for at least 800. I set my price high because of the low miles and new shifter and planned on getting talked down.

88 350 tpi formula,

You got the deal of the century

WOW someone finally beat my deal on a T-56. I paid $500 and had to put a $16 shift fork in it...that was almost 3 years ago and it's been by far the best tranny I've ever owned.

Apparently T-5 prices have gone up quite a bit since I last checked. It may be time to dig through the pile o' parts....

I bought it here on this board well, the midwest one. he just wanted to get rid of it. I figured if it was too trashed I could use it other wise for a core but, hey it worked out for me just got to put it in still

I appologise 86IROCNJ for getting off track. But for your set-up I think it is a great deal. And like I said before do not put the break in miles on it. Than it is used and something may go wrong, yadda yadda...

I agree. Keep it "freshly rebuilt with no miles" and you'll get $1300 without too much trouble. Keep the rebuild reciepts with it too.
