Poor 0-60 times, no traction problem

When I first bought my Formula It ran 16.2's @ 83mph consistantly... a year later the car runs consistant 16.7's @ 83mph! It is my 0-60 times which are suffering. The car used to spin the hell out of the right rear tire when id punch it, now it just hooks up like its got no power. I was reading through my shop manual and It said something about how a torque converter can go bad (cluthes 2 & 3 run together)... resulting in performance loss from 0-35 mph.
My car is shifting at like 4000, is this normal.
If anyone has an Idea of what could be wrong with my car please let me know.
Thanks, Ben

what were your 60' times before and after. At WOT your car should be shifting at about 4800 rpms. Do a search on adjusting your TV (throttle valve) cable.

If the torque converter is going away (overrun sprag not holding) it will take off as though there is "no stall at all", will not break loose tires, feel real slow till about 2,500-2,800 rpm, and from there act almost normal. This will account for the loss in ET, but the MPH will stay pretty much the same.

Thanks guys, i think it is the torque converter. This winter i'll probobly install a 1,900-2100 stall B&M TorqueMaster.

6-25-03 60ft 2.500

Your mph stayed the same so it means you've still got the same amount of power, it's just that other variables (weather for ex.) are different. Was everyone running slow that night?
