4L60, can it be swapped in place of a 700r4?

I've recently gone through several trannies.

The first one was bad when I bought the car, it slipped like crazy and I pulled it out and put a 60k mile 700r4 that worked great in its place.

However, for some reason the 700r4 that I put in had the hydraulic pump fail on me. Don't know why, it just went BANG one day. So that left me with my current dillema.

I'm in a bit of a crunch, I'd go with a performance tranny from a shop however I'm VERY strapped for cash, I'm also in the position that the GTA is my daily driver and I need it running again SOON.

That leaves me with used trannies as my only option. Got one, pulled the pan and found crap loads of shavings, it went back to the seller. Got another, looked great, fluid good, put it and BOOM before the car was even off the jack stands. TC was all the way on, so it wasn't the input shaft that went. I pre-lubed the TC by pouring a quart of ATF into it as recommended.

So that leaves me with a dead tranny.

I want something low mileage, and fairly recent. Would a 4L60, not a 4L60E, from a 93 or 94 work? I know that GM basically just changed the name in 93, but is there anything I should be on the lookout for? Will it just swap in as a 1987+ 700r4 would?

If anyone else has any other recommendations I'd be willing to hear them out. No T56 swap crap though, if I could afford that I would. Nor pro-built or other performance trannies. I'm REALLY strapped for cash. $300 is pretty much my limit for a tranny.

700R4 and the 4L60 are the same, so yes, it would work.
