if you have a stock 305.. and you get 4.10 gears don't plan on going on the highway =). i only know because i have the 305 and hear your pushing it with the 3.73's. as far as the 350 with 4.10's you still might not have very good highwway speeds but better then the 305 would think of. hope this helps alittle bit

another thing if its a stock 305, those 4.10's are gonna make it go out of its power range real quick, you would be better off with some 3.42's or 3.73's. I have 3.42's and i love them with my 700R4.

I dunno... my 305 had some serious ***** (for 190hp) with 3.73 gears.. and you were never really in the "wrong" gear. Only thing is the rpm on the highway will be pretty high. about 2700 or so I'd say.

Depends on what the intended perpose is for the auto. In town with some freeway, [below 85 mph] 4.10s are great. My kids 96 s10 blazer came with 373s from the factory. I can cruise the freeway @ 2600/ 2700 rpms @ 70 mph in my GTA. One thing good about them is, if you ever decide to install a real lumpy cam. It'll be much better, NO BUCKING in 3rd gear in town.

4.10s rule, i just finished installing my chrysler 8 3/4 and went for the first drive. the thing has great acceleration. I will def use overdrive now.the only problem i see is that i cant get speedo gears for the car . the 700r4 only went as high as 373 form the factory and no one makes the 4.10 speedo gears.I def liked how hard my car accelerated. it was great . But the speedo is the choice, do you want the acc. of 4.10 and have no speedo or do you want 373 which are still good and what most people choose and have a working speedo . i never drive the car farther that 30 miles at the most so i could care less about gas mileage, and i also dont drive it everyday . if you drive it everyday then 373s would be the way to go , unless u have a 6 speed or are planning to put one in .

actually, a six speed od isn't a whole lot better than the od in a 700r4. the od in a six speed is like .7:1 and the od in a 700 is like .76:1

the T-5 OD is about .73, and the T-56 has 2 OD gears. The first is around .7, the second is around .5. I had 3:43's in my 01 TA with the T-56, and in 6th doing about 80 I would only see about 1900 rpm's.
