T56 is in! quick question about speedo

After being on the back burner for a while, my auto- to- T56 swap is almost done!!! The car drives fine and the ebay gods treated me well with a sound tranny. I ordered the conversion box for the speedo tonite. I expected the ecm to throw a code with out the speedo wire hooked up and it didn't let me down. As soon as the code hit I lost my idle, which is what I expected. The question...... after I install the conversion box, and reset the ecm will the problem resolve it self with out me doing anything else? What about the lock up wire?, will I need to do anything with it? I had the chip reprogrammed to Manual trans, and turned off some of the stuff I wouldn't need (speed limiter) and a few others. Any thoughts on this would make an old hot-rodder happy! Thanks!

In order (assuming you get the signal converter installed correctly): Yes, tie it up and leave it alone, no.

Thanks Matt!! On that note, if there is any experiences with hooking up the "box"................ wrong or right. I have a 3.73 gear.
