I'm rebuilding my old 700R4 and have a few questions. Its actually in very good shape nothing wrong really but minor clutch wear. (un touchedexcept for SK, originaly from an 82 caprice)

Question 1. What would be a symptom of an incorrectly installed converter clutch assembly?

After the shift kit install it seemd to loose umph. I never pressure checked it because I figured it was a live long feature HD install. Best I can describe it would like a tq converter slip type loss of power. The power off line use to be instant and (crisp) but was sorta delayed like was holding back (mush) after the install. I think the tq converter valve could have been installed wrong (my fault) lockup wasent installed. Could this be it?

Question 2. The 2-3 upshift was changed. I want it back to where it was. I installed a red replacment spring I dont remember the exact spec on it but it raised the shift point 5 MPH. It was too high with the rear gear ratio and I would like to get it to shift sooner back to stock shift point. What spring do I need? The old ones are still floating around but I dont remember which are which.

Question 3. What are the best clutches to use for this rebuild? Who makes a good rebuild kit?

Thanks!

Cool, thanks for the links. I'm back and fourth on this build, tranny shop that hasent a clue about my problems said they could get me a good quality kit fairly cheap. I'm waiting to see what it all comes with before I decide.
