Trans Rebuild Problems...

I just rebuilt the 700-r4 in my 1991 Camaro and just got it back in the car. The only problem is that I am having problems with 2nd and 4th gears. It can't find either one of them. When you start off it has first but then rev's high and shifts directly into third. And stays in there no matter what the engine speed. I assume it says in first because of the overrun settup but I'm not sure why it cant find 2nd or 4th. Could it be the 2-4 band or low pressure on the servo? Anybody got any ideas? Also the torque converter isn't locking up. Is that because it can't find 4th to start off with. Thanks for any help yall can offer as you can tell I'm a noob. *** Bless.

The common piece between 2nd & 4th is the band. Check that the servo lineup is correct. Can also drop the pan and apply the band via the servo manually (with cover off) and check that the band applies.

IIRC I was reading that the band can slip off the anchor pin, or the pin can slip out of the case??? This would cause no band apply.
