ok guys, i'm not really familiar with trannys, so whatever input you could give me, i'd appreciate.

over the past couple of days, i would have a really delayed 2-3 shift, and the car wouldn't seem to be pulling after 3k RPMS. then, on my way to school this morning, the car would be pulsing (running, slipping, repeat) at about 45-50mph, almost as if it wasn't getting enough fuel or something. then about 7 miles later, i would start from a stop, and it would feel like it was about to die, then catch, then die. in the last mile to school, my car couldnt do more than 40mph, and then when i had to slow down to make a turn, wouldnt do more than 25mph, and was stuck between 2000-2500 RPM's, wouldnt shift to the next gear. When i got out, i smelled some burning.

i had it towed home, and am going to call up some trans shops tomorrow. i just wanted to get your opinions to verify that this is probably the trans.
