An Occasional THUD

While I'm driving, I occasionally hear a THUD as I shift gears. So far, it has only happened when I engage 1st, usually on takeoff. I just replaced the U joints since they were stock and rusted, that seemed to help a little. But I heard it again the other day. Any thoughts???

Could be a broken tranny mount.

Almost certain it is a broken tranny mount... pull it and check (the mount, not the tranny).
