Driveshaft question

Driveshaft question
Fairly straightforward question this time 
Will stripping the rust off the driveshaft, and then painting it upset the balance of it? I have to drop it anyways to replace the output shaft seal, and I figure that I might as well clean it up while it is off.

Thats what I figure, but I'm not sure about taking a wire wheel to all the scale. I'm kind of a cheap bastard, and I don't want to pay to get it rebalanced
