Hey i am wondering why my tranny makes "gear niose" when in 1rst, 2nd, or 3rd gear. 4th and 5th are fine. I just bought the car, knowing that this could be a issue, but i just want to know what to expect. The car has a 350 5speed. I am guessing the motor is wrecking the tranny. I dont know what tranny is in there right now. Where can i tell? Any help is appreciated.

Check the fluid. There might not be any or the trans was driven without fluid and your bearings are shot.
