i did a clutch swap about 5 months or so ago and about 2 1/2 months later the throw out bearing started squealing. we replaced it right before the bash in bowling green. about a week 1/2 later it came back.
well after looking at things its the slave cyl keeping it loaded aganst the press plate. iv been told the press plate or the T/O bearing is to tall. if that were the case id see more issues like this posted.
do i need to de bleed the system any?
has anyone ever dealt with this and what did you do to fix it?

make sire the bearing is the right part no first and foremost.
and try swapping the slave cylinder out, its easy and not too expensive
when you put it back in you didnt make the mistake of bolting the slave cylinder on the tranny side of the bracket, instead of in between the bracket and the heat shield did you???
ive seen that done before and would move the bearing closer to the pressure plate

yea thats good in that area,im on my second bearing right now due to all of this.
on the way to the bowling green event the old slave took a dive so 10-15 miles outside of nash we found ourselves replacing a slave assy. the obly way GM sells it is as one assy, resivor, like, master cyl, line, and slave cyl. its also pre bled!!
yea its on the correct side.
after doing some homework today the shop it called said call the place where we get our clutches from, they should be able to help ya.
so i do so. i tell the guy what the deal is and said the S-10s had something similar happen. he said call me in 1 ½ hrs and ill see what i can dig up.
sho nuff there was a bulliten on my issue. he said gimme a fax#and ill send you the info. he also said YES the T/O IS supposd to lightly ride on the press plate.
i agree thats going aganst the old rule of " the only time the T/O is to touch the press plate is when engauging gears.
he said there is a procedure that i need to see for my car. i also gave it a good bleed this eve and all is quiet at the moment.
i do thank you for your effort 383. :hail:
