shifting problems

hey whats up

i have a 92 camaro 3.1v6 with an automatic. evrytime it shifts or i get on the gas hard i feel a large bang and my tire chirps a little bit. it never used to do that . why is it doing that . does anyone know. thanx

Transmission: Pro-Built 700r4 w/2800 Vigilante
Axle/Gears: Eaton 3.73 w/Moser axles
Have you checked to see if your transmission mount is cracked?

When they are, under hard acceleration the back of the tranny will jump up and hit the body of the car. You should just be able to jack up one side of the car and get under there and check it out. It is between the crossmember and the transmission. Relatively cheap and easy to fix.

If it's not that, then my guess would be something with the rear end...

thanx for your help

i found out when my step dad had it that he had replaced the trans mount once before. so maybe it went bad again.hmmm. or maybe its something with the rear end.

i dunno i guess i'll figure it out eventualy

you won't find out anything unless you jack that hog up and take a gander at them mounts. Like said, not that probably the rear end.
