700R4 @ 8000rpm's?

Will there be any problems with spinning a 700R4 at 8000rpm? I heard you need a better pump for it because the stock one with start to Cavitate(sp?) at high RPM's.

a built 2.8 turbo.

Maybe not 8000rpm, but at least 7500. I will set the rev limiter at 8000 tho.

With the Trans-Go Hi-Rev spring kit, and the Trans-Go Hi-rpm No-Yo-Yo front pump steel rings & spring setup, it will hold up to 7,800 rpm.

ok cool. Is there anything else that would be needed to beef it up some more? Im only planning on running about 250hp through it daily, but on the occasion i want to go to the track I need it to hold up to 400+

Im not very knowledgable in the transmission deptartment, just engines.

because its a V6?

I laugh at your Overwieght, Underpowered excuse for an engine you like to call "a V8"

or are you just refering to the 700R4 being able to handle 8K?

How can you call a V8 "underpowered" when its you that needs a turbo to acheive a 250HP daily driver.

Even if you do reach your goal of 400+, V8's can do that N/A.
The only advantage your V6 has is a mere few pounds in weight savings, which hardly offsets the loss in displacement. That and the $3 savings in spark plugs when a tune-up is needed.:lala:

But to answer your question, the parts Dana listed will help keep the transmission out of trouble, but you still need to upgrade many of the internal components. Your V6 tranny stock only had 5 clutches in the already ailing 3-4 setup.

i dont need a turbo to make 250hp, i just need it to make 400+

So about the tranny, is there like a kit or something that will come with all the parts needed to make it handle 8000rpm's and 400+ hp? Or do i have to buy all the parts seperatly?

its not that someone isn't building a small block. I would just think that for money involved, it would be cheaper and easier to build a turbo'd V8. there isn't anything wrong with wanting to build a V6 or anything, but to go as far as to call a V8 a piece of crap....no don't think so.

He's not making up the part?

"Trans-Go Hi-rpm no-yo-yo"

All I pictured was some rapper with his bball cap on sideways doing the "yo yo mtv trans-go" stance...
