On my THIRD used tranny, and THIS one feels like crap too!!

Ok first 700R4 I got was free since it came with the car, and it shifted like crap and hardly ever went into overdrive, so I bought a used 700R4 out of a running car, the guy swore up and down it was great. It ran great for exactly 10 minutes then lost 3/4 gear and burned up the fluid. Fast forward to today, just had ANOTHER used tranny, this time out of a car with less than 80K miles (an 89 iroc) and i even got to test drive the car. Seems like it drove ok.......................anyways, now its in my car, and it just doesn't feel that good. Shifts REALLLLY soft through all the gears, and doesn't seem to hold overdrive all that well. Seems like its slipping a little in overdrive, can't tell for sure though...................what the heck is going on here???????????? Tranny fluid is a little less than pink, but not brown. Also, how in the heck do you adjust the TV cable the correct way? I know you are supposed to depress that button then slammed the throttle wide open and it automatically clicks into position, but my button is kinda broke, so I have to press the button as I open the throttle in order for it to click open. I swear I'm so close to driving the car straight off a cliff, its driving me insane. Its almost like it doesn't want to drive anymore. To top everything off, suddenly the engine runs like **** all the time and revs up extremely slow, even for a TPI motor. I hate cars. **** 700R4s.

I read that article, problem is my TV cable doesn't "ratchet" out of the fully depressed in position unless I "help" it by pressing the metal tang while attempting to open the throttle to WOT.

then you have a TV cable problem...
replace the cable, and set it correctly...

the TV cable is what tells the tranny to use more line pressure and shift harder when you give it more thottle. not having it hooked up will make it shift too soft at WOT, not let it kick down right, and can evenually burn it up because of low line pressure..
