ya, i was told my torque converter locking up prematurely, by some guys at this transmission place.

What my car is doing is, in overdrive, after it switches into about 3rd, my rpms go down really low, and i have NO power. Until i floor it, then it goes back up... It will also stop, if i put it back into drive.

Does anyone have anything to help me, any... anything? pointers, tips..? this is annoying.

Also, i have a jasper transmission, that was in the car when i bought it. is it possible that something in the tranny isn't set right(though the guys at the transmission place said it was all good, and everything was working perfectly, cept for it just locking up soon, and that's what the computer has been telling it to do).. OR is it possible that i need to replace my torque converter, or change something out in it?...

I need some help here, it's just.. getting old and effecting my racing.... i think...

 

I think the converter lockup is controll'd by wires inside the trans pan. Sounds like it's not unlocking for downshifts. Normally they unlock under WOT, braking condition, or shifting I believe. I have no clue what's causing just trying to bump this up.

 

ohyes, and it will stop if i put on the brakes a bit... forgot to add that in there...
