I was test driving an 83z today that had a weird tranny problem. When the trans would shift from first to second it was very rough. I couldn't hear a bang, but you could just feel it. Well once you get to second gear then you have to get the car up to an rpm where it should be shifting and let off the gas in order for it to actually shift. He was saying that a buddy of his told him that it sounded like some vacuum line was disconnected or something. What does it sound like to you guys?

Oh almost forgot not sure if it's important or not but you didn't actually have to press the button on the top of the shifter in order to switch gears.

 

what trans? might be a vacuum problem, might be tv cable, might be something else. check the modualtor if it has one and the tv cable if it has one

 

Tranny is a 700r4. I was thinking about buying the car but I didn't want to buy a car that was going to need a rebuild right off the bat.
