Flywheel for Auto-T5 swap... HELP!!
Hi guys...
I am swapping a t5 into my 86 iroc and the t5 came out of an 84 bird with a 305. When I went to put everything together, the flywheel from the bird is a heavy one and the one off the Iroc is really light and has a weight on it. Of course I was going to use everything off the bird so it'd match, but since the bolt pattern is different can I just use the light one with the t5? Thanks for youe help!! Couldn't have done this swap without you guys!!!!

well if your car had an auto trans to start with you have a flexplate not a flywheel which is really light.....the flyhweel should weigh around 30lbs regardless of the year if it came out of a 3rd gen

a flexplate has big holes in it usually.....and flywheel is solid steel and looks like a huge brake rotor, with 6 bolt holes around the circumference
think about whats going......the clutch disc is sandwhiched between the flywheel and the pressure plate.....it rides on the surface of the flywheel

The flywheel for a 1 pc rear main block is externally balanced, sor you're looking for a 153 tooth external balance flywheel.
