Trannie is slipping????

i was driving today going up about a 45 degree angle hill in my iroc and all of a sudden I can't pick up speed and my trannie wouldn't shift into 3rd or 4th gear. I was just wondering if any body has had this same problem and what did they do to solve it. It is an automatic with a 350 5.7 Liter motor.

Yeah i was afraid of that is there a way to get a transmission for cheap because I know labor is going to kill me on the rebiuld. Is it better to go new or used trannie because I saw one on ebay going for 550.00 bucks but i didn't know if that was a good deal it said they would give me 250 dollars for the core.

Have you checked the fluid level, low fluid level will cause slippage.

A "good" rebuild will go for around $1000. I would go ahead and spend the money though because IF you go to respectable business it will shift better than new and have a warranty. I know I had to have mine rebuilt again after a track day and I was glad it was free. Oh and it freakin shifts now. It barks my drag radials hitting 3rd at 70mph.
