I have an 84 firebird that i just did a engine rebuild on. When i did this i know longer use the computer to run my engine.
After this was done the car dosent want to drive right , i think its one of three things?
the car has no off the line power that i know the engine has the cabaility of , it wont shift out of first untill the engine really realy whines up and tachs out and it will slam into the next gear. THe fluid level is fine and nothings slipping so its not internal in the tranny.
1. kickdown tvs cable isnt working right since its now to tight or not connected at all since its supose to mount on the passenger side but holley mounts it on drivers side,.
2. my computer and torque converter dont like each other . IM not sure how but is it possible for the computer to freak out and no longer let the lock up converter work properly
3. The convert just isnt the right one for the engine.


..... or the possiblity my car knows she should be a 5 speed.
