What is the best torque converter for the 700R4??

I'm in such a huge debate right now. I want to run my car on the street, so I need something streetable, but I want something with a decently high stall speed so I can launch hard at the track. I also want to run nitrous. So, regardless of money, and considering streetability as well as launching, what converter do you guys think is the best one for the 700R4?

I have personal experience with both Vigilante and Yank converters.

I run a Vigilante and my buddy runs a Yank.

They both kick ****.

Try the guys out at www.ptcrace.com

They can set you up with what ever you need. They stand behind there products. I have seen many of these converters used at the local track with great sucess.

Good luck on your choice.

I agree with that. I run a Vigilante 2800 on my 95 Z28 and a Yank ST3500 on the IROC, and they're both high quality pieces.

Another vote for Yank or Vigilante!

I had B&M and it basically fell apart and destroyed my trans pump. So now I run a Vigilante 3400 stall and it is awesome. The internals are hardened/heat treated, making this converter very strong. Worth the money and I recommend it.

I have a Yank SS3600 and it's very streetable with 3.73 gears and get over 4,000 out of it at the track on nitrous. If you get one go with the SS3800 the 3600 is to good on the street.

In regards to my first post.

I run a Vigi 2800 and my buddy runs the Yank SS3600.

Pickin the proper converter is based on alot of factors: gearing, power band, power adder, etc...
