Put the trans in park and lock the wheels with the parking brake. Try to rotate the driveshaft by hand, and pay particular attention to where the front and rear yokes go into the trans and attach to the rear. If there is slop in the u-joints you've found your problem.

How many miles on the car?

if it is the manual tranny car it may be a throwout bearing. They tend to jingle when they are going bad.

good point.!

thanks guys, the car is the stick shift one,it could be the bearing.im actually fed up with her since she's giving me weird problems, she broke a stupid bracket that holds the shifter in place to the tranny then after getting that thing welded again and installing it in place the shifter wont let go reverse gear unless i force him to first wich leads me to this question, can i install a t5 tranny with my current mechanical clutch linkage?

I do not believe so, but converting to hydraulic is simple. All you need is the sealed master/slave assembly from a 3rd gen car.
