no power in overdrive
i dont know whats going on with my tranny, but if i'm on the freeway in drive, for some reason the car wont go over 65 at WOT,if i shift into overdrive,i eventually get up to speed.what i hate about overdrive is that there is no power, its not kicking down when i floor it,it stays in overdrive.another thing is when i would go up hills in my old 2.8 V6,the overdrive would kick in nice and hard, but the IROC never does that.could the overdrive gear be worn out or is it something else?any ideas? Thanks

You may need to adjust the TV cable. Back it off all the way and set it at 7 clicks. I know this isn't the way most guys will tell you how to do it, but it works well. The other way (which most people will tell you). Is to back the TV cable off all the way, then pull the throttle open all the way. However, when i do that on my car it only goes about 3 clicks and I have no passing gear and it upshifts way too soon.... Try both ways and see which one works better for you.
Since it seems like this is a new car for you, you might want to think about this..... That may not be the original trans in the car. It may not have the correct governor in the trans for your vehicle. If you have the wrong governor in the car it will upshift way too soon, you won't have any power, and you will lose passing gear. Try the TV cable adjustment first!!!!!!!

well i adjusted the tv cable, but it didn't help much, now i cant get the car to shift where i'm used to it,it either upshifts to fast or shifts at 4000 and jerks pretty hard into 2nd,i'll keep messin with it.when you pull the wire back,do you release the metal button?or just keep it pushed in and open the throttle wide open?mine clicks so fast i can't count them. Thanks
