Will a 95 caprice rearend fit my 92 rs?
I am trying to find out if a rearend out of a 95 caprice cop would fit in my 92 rs. My camaro has drum brakes and the regular crappy 10 bolt. The caprice rearend is called a 9C1, with posi, disc brakes, and 3.08 gears. It has 30 splines. I know the brake proportioning would be different, but I'd like to find out if everything else will bolt up. Any advice would be appreciated.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
No it won't. The mounting points are different for the lower arms; there is no provision to mount the torque arm, and the width is likely not even close.

Stock 3rd and 4th gen 10-bolts, Borg/Warner 9-bolts, and special Dana 44s will all bolt in.
4th gen rears are wider, so your tires will stick out past the wheel arches. This looks pretty bad, and is illegal in most states for a street car.
Aftermarket bolt in 9"s and 12-bolts are common. A fair number of people are also starting to modify 8.8" Mustang rears to work in the F-body, but I haven't seen a bolt in unit yet.
