Mystery Trans Leak???

Well, I've got my car in storage for the winter, but still like to go check on it every once and a while, just to make sure everything is ok with it. Well the other day, I wander into the garage, only to find a large puddle of trans fluid under the car. The car hasnt been driven in months, hasnt moved, been pushed, rolled, nothing. All I can think is that the front seal maybe went out? It looks alot like the fluid came from the front of the trans, as a couple of droplets are hanging on the transpan. The pan itself is solid, the cooler lines look good, the driveshaft is still there.

Is it possible for the front seal to just...go out? I live in Northern Illinois, so it has been exposed to very cold temperatures. What do you guys think?

Maybe more info would help?
It's an 87 GTA, carb'd 350 with a 7004r, and a midwest converter.

if it's leaking from while it's not been running i'd bet on the pan or fill tube seal leaking. it doesn't take a lot of ATF to look like a lot.
