Its a good move for drag racing, But it will put you in a Street Modified class for autocross. That class is tough since the car prep rules are structured around DSM allwheel drive cars and other import rockets with unlimited boost . HAVE FUN

very true.
but (and this is kinda dishonest but hey it IS a form of racing...) how many SCCA techs look at the rear axle, KNOW what the proper rear axles for the car are, and will go into enough detail to be positive that its aftermarket?
what im saying is, make it look stock, and if anyone asks to many questions, its a rare axle from a firehawk or somthin.....

Thats true. Although is a 12 bolt really necessary for road racing anyways? It won't put nearly as much stress on the rear as drag racing. I may be wrong, but I'de think it would be better to run a 10 bolt anyways since you get less parasitic loss.

well if you got an engine , making decent hp and trq ( like 350+) wouldnt a 10bolt get smoked up after while? I mean sometimes racing on the street is no different than hitting a launch on the strip....
