Can anyone tell me how they got to the two bolts all the way on top of the the engine block and how far can you jack the transmiision down because I dont want to break the screws mounted to the motor. A fast response would be grealty appreciated. thanks

disconnect everything and drop the trany as far down as it'll go with a jack underneath. it wont seem like much but should be enough to get to the 2 bolts with several extensions or one really long one and a swivel socket.

long extensions, like 3', and a socket, swivel socket works better.

Stand next to the car, and reach down from above with a short box-end wrench. About 25 times easier than getting to them from underneath.

Much easier!!!! Make sure you jack the trans up all the way so you can get your hands in there.

if the exhaust isn't i nthe way don't worry about it. only time i ever wanted to reach in from the top to remove transmission bolts i couldn't. always got them from below. i have an extension with a 9/16 swivel socket built into it and a 36" extension with a 3/8 male and 1/2 female ewither one or both of them work for nearly every trans i ever wante to remove.

i would put a transgo shift kit in,upgrade 3-4 clutch pack with aftermarket 8 or 9 clutchpack kit red alto and upgrade second gear band to a 4l60-e hi-energy one,or go to pro-built.net.
