Insane idea
Insane idea
Alright, this is insane.
Eventually, I need to get a 9" or 12-bolt. I dont particularly want to pay moser $2000 for one. I was thinking of buying a V6 rear end that was shot, cut the brackets off, get a 12-bolt, cut those brackets off, and weld these other ones on. I am decent at fabbing stuff up and I have a gearhead across the street at the machine shop who said he would help me do anything I need.
Anyone else attempt this? What width rear end would I need?

i'll be attempting it right after i move..... my idea envolves takeing a stock 3rdgen rear, making a small jig that holds everything in the proper position...
then cutting off the stock brackets from a junk rear and setting a 9" and everything in the jig....
if all goes well, not only will i have a 9" for me, but i can make 2 or 3 for some friends
