hurst dual/gate 2 shifter problem
I am in the process of installing this shifter in my car. my problem is that the shifter cable does not even come close to matching up with the transmission arm when im trying to align it. if i put the shifter in park and the transmission arm in park, the cable is about 1/4" too short. if i put the shifter in 1st and the transmission arm in first, the cable is almost 1/4" too long. ive done what the intsructions said and started the adjustment with the shifter and transmission in neutral, but after i try to align all the gear shifts, its not even close. anyone else had this problem? im starting to think i got some bad parts.
Yeah, installing that thing is a PITA. I had a custom car builder install mine while he was doing some other work for me. Afterwards, he was sorry he agreed to do it.
Its a pain to get in, but once it is in it is worth it. Just make sure the cables are nice and secure when you are finished.
