bolt on posi for open differentials?

i was talking with a friend and he said that he thought he heard somewhere that they made these...he said they work something like a locker but are made to bolt up to a car with a non-posi differential?

have any of you heard of this..and if so could you tell me where....because it sounds like it would b a lot cheaper than getting a posi and having someone put it in....thanks

They are cheaper in that theres no setup, but you still have a stock (weak) carrier. I have driven two cars with Powertrax lockers (one a 70 SuperBee, the other a blown 93 Mustang), and absolutely HATED both of them. They were very sensitive to the slightest unevenness in the road, locking and unlocking constantly. I'm used to real lockers (my SS had a 9" with a Trutrac soft locker at one time) and their quirks, but this was much worse. I've heard they have improved since then (about 4 years ago), though, but I'd still want to drive one before you buy, esp if this is for a daily driver.
