I changed the rear end gears in my 89 camaro to 3.90's. I have the right speedo gears however The stock driven gear has a metal shaft and the new one has a plastic shaft. The new one will not go into the speedometer gear cover. The shaft is too thick? Where do I get the correct cover? The trans is a probuilt 700R4.
Thanks!!

You need a different "sleeve".... I don't have the part #, do a search for "speedo gears" and "sleeve", you should find something

Ok so they call the cover a sleeve. It is a 9 bolt so I have 3.90 gears. The stock piece is a black plastic cover. The speedo is cable driven. I assume probuilt put in a 15/45 combo for the 3.90's. The stock gear had a metal shaft and the new one is plastic. This is the part number I found : 25512339 is this correct????
