Low 10's w/ a stick. Need clutch.....
This season It's almost certain that I will reach my goal of a 10sec. pass, so is the fact that my clutch isn't going to get me there. Now I have a dual friction centerforce, what would you guys recomend that would stand up to 300 shot and ET streets?

I've personally used the Stage 3 on a 11 second car. No problems at all...it was fine after 2 hard seasons on it.
Transmission gave up before the clutch did.. lol
Don't forget, with those kind of numbers, it's worth EVERY penny to get a GOOD QUALITY flywheel. Me personally, I'd used an aftermarket bellhousing too, or at least a blanket for the tranny.

the spec stg 4 is your friend. It's pretty much the same as the stg 3 except with a solid hub disc, so it's much stronger, and much less risk of it exploding on you. Best part about them is there not unbearable if you ever plan to hit the street with it.

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards the spec 4 but I wanted to check my other options before I ordered it. Is there anything different when installing the Spec stg. 4 compared to a stock clutch?

I would never run a solid hub on the street. The Stage III is your best choice. It's rated up to 750HP, so you should be fine.
Install is straight forward. Follow the break-in procedure religiously.

Um, no shock absorption because there's no springs in the hub. I'm certain that if you ask SPEC if it's a good idea to run that clutch on the street they will say no.

that is of course, until you try it and find out it actually not that bad. The stage 3 is so touchy as it is with its sprung hub, theres not much difference going to the solid. theres almost no play in the stg3, nor can you slip it very much without it bucking like wild. Theres not much noticeable difference in clutch play between the two.

I agree that the Stage III is a bit much for the street, particularly with a mild motor, but once you get used to it it's fine. It just takes a lot more attention that a typical street clutch. I drive an AWD turbo car every day, so I get a lot of practice with a delicate clutch/gas balance. When I get back in my Camaro it's no big deal. Same dance, different tune.
I drove a solid hub on the street in my Nova, and broke stuff constantly. After the third driveshaft broke I decided that it would have to be a strip only car. I got rid of it shortly thereafter.
Do you run at Cecil County? I see we're from the same town. Give it up for the first state!

i try to get there as much as i can. I'm sidelined right now, gotta fix a pilot bushing before i take it back down to the track. Once thats fixed i gotta plumb a new fuel system, and install the nitrous kit i just bought. THEN, it's off to the races. I will be there friday night on the sidelines.
I drive an orange 86' with a white cowl hood and weld prostars...if you see me come say hi! ohh, and if you haven't already been there, check out firststate fbody, the links in my sig.

Cool. My Camaro is an '86 IROC Z28. The paint used to be maroon, but is in sorry shape now (damn Van Nuys assembly plant). I also have a white cowl hood on the car.
I typically drive an '02 WRX sport wagon. It's blue with a very low 3 digit PC tag. If you see me around feel free to say hi.
Thanks for the link. Nice site.
