Transmission: 700 r4

9 bolt axles

Hey i just took the right axle out of my car, and before i go to a junkyard to get a new one, what is the spline count for an 88 9 bolt with 3.27 gears? And, which cars will have these axles?

don't think the 9 bolts ever changed. you have it out, countthe splines. only cars you'll find 9 bolts in are thirdgen f bodys and 350 engine, i think.

Some 305s with T-5s also came with the 9 bolt. Look for 85-89 Firebirds and 87-89 Camaros.

Transmission: T5

Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt, 3.45

My 88 GTA originally came with a 305TPI, 700R4, and a 3.27 9-bolt posi disc rear. I know these were the factory options too, I checked the RPO codes.

took mine from an 85 TA auto with a 305 tpi. i see more 9 bolts in TAs then camaros

the three 9 bolt rears I have all have 28 spline axles.
