Torque Converter Question
What is everybodys views on which brand of torque converter to get? When I rebuild my tranny, I am going to be going with a 3200 stall converter. Just wondering which converter everyone favors. I know everyone has their own opinion on this subject but I just want to see what the majority likes. Thanks in advance for the info.

i'm running a vette 2100 stall on my bolt on L98. not sure if it's helping or hurting or it's just me that can't launch right. i gained 1 MPH (probably the new high flow manifold) at the track last week but did worse in 1/4 mile and 60 ft times.

I would recommend going with a good converter such as a Precision Industries Vigilante (http://www.converter.com/) or a Yank (http://www.converter.cc). I definately believe you get what you pay for as far as converters go.

It's best to call them because the custom make each converter to your specs.

When I talked to Yank about a converter, I told them what stall I wanted but I didn't get to really choose what STR I wanted. With Midwest I was able to choose.

Stall Torque Ratio. Some people may say that it doesn't make a difference, but it makes a big difference. If you are looking for light to light performance go with a higher STR. I wouldn't go above 2.2-2.3. If you are just looking for track performance and highway(high speeds) performance, go with a lower STR 1.8-2.0.
