Put trans on wrong and broke it! Need help

Background info:
I just put in a new engine in my car and when I was a mounting the old transmission I must have messed something up because they didn’t fully mate and when I torque it down something popped they went together. When I later tried to turn the engine by hand to set the valve lash the engine would not budge. I used the starter and finally after many tries got the engine to finally turn with a lot of beating. Now I know from my other post (click here) that I didn’t properly line up the torque converter and the pump on the transmission and probably broke the pump.

Problem:
When I put the car in drive or any other gear nothing happens at all, it acts just like it was still in park. It seems like there is no line pressure what so ever in the trans.

Question:
I know I probably broke my pump but do you think my torque converter is okay? Roughly how much would it cost for a trans shop to fix the pump, or is it not worth it and instead I should just buy a new transmission?

The pump is easy to replace. Its the last thing that goes in the trans so it shouldnt cost to much to replace. The converter may or may not be broken. Does it still spin freely with little endplay?
