TH-350 to 700-R4??
Ok, I have alot of questions...So bear with me, lol. Ok I've decided to keep my car and drive it back and forth to Wyotech next year ( 6 hrs each way) And after looking at various manual and overdrive combos I've decided to go with a built 700-R4. I have an 82 Z that was swapped to a TH-350 before I got it. First question is. What all do I need to swap the 82 over? I have a 700-R4 driveshaft and crossmember here already. I am planning on installing a Megashifter and a stall converter at the same time. So what else do I need. The motor is a 78 4 bolt main block with the starter and flexplate from that motor. Also what size/brand stall would work good, I want 2600-3000 stall. Second question, What is everyones recomendation for lockup converter control. I am stuck between the TCI and the B&M lockup control, My friend has the B&M but he said the TCI would be fine for me? Third question What is the best shift kit/buildup combo. I want it to shift HARD, I want it to bark the 17s with ease maybe even get squirrly? I heard the B&M kit is a hard shift but the vette servo will make it not shift as hard. Also I heard transgo is good as well. Right not I am pushing 320 hp and 385 ft/lb torque, But a head and cam swap will boost that up a little more. Anything else I should add to the 700? I think thats all for now, If I think of anything else, I'll post more...Thanks!!!

You'll need a shorter torque arm as well.
The TH700 crossmember is shorter and farther back than the TH200C or TH350 would be. You can use what was the back two bolt holes/nuts in the frame for the front bolts of the TH700 crossmember, but there aren't any holes/nuts for what's now the back bolts. You'll have to match-drill and slide some nuts up the frame member.
I'd think the TCI kit would work okay. If your q-jet is CC, the factory ECM will lock up the TH700 as well. I'll assume it is not, though.
Barking tires is kid stuff. If you want performance, get your tranny from Probuilt and he'll build it to take the power and include the proper shift kit. He'll also recommend a proper converter. He can also do the lock-up kit for you.
What more could you want???

Everytime I start thinking about a $200 core and start looking into what is required to get them up to snuff parts-wise, and even assuming free labor, the Probuilt starts looking attractive again.
Then the PB reality sets in again...

Well see the thing is, If I'm gonna get around $1000-$1500 in a 700-R4 swap, I might as well drop the extra bills and go for a T-56 setup. I got graduation coming up soon so I will get some money from that, And I am selling my other car? I guess I would need an exact quote on a probuilt.

The converter will probably scare you off.
Of course, $1500 to get up & running with a T56 is perhaps a bit rose-colored.
