T-5 into an 82 Z
My car is an 82' Z28 with a Th-350 in it right now. My motor is a 78' block. I found a complete 85 T/A parts car and want to swap the t-5 into mine. I should be able to just bolt everything in right. Will the 85 Flywheel work on my motor? It should be pretty straight foward right. When I asked about other tranny swaps before I was told I needed flywheels etc for an older motor. The 85 should be the right flywheel though? Thanks again

Yes it should bolt up, they are both 2 piece rear main seal motors. As far everything else though, it will bolt right up. You got lucky that your parts car was a similar motor and speedo cable driven. I have heard stories of people having to swap over VSS's and speedo gears, and flywheels, and after they are done the only thing that actually came out of thier donor car was the T-5 itself,
