350, D1-SC, T5, clutch?? SPEC stage 2 or 3?
Finally got my D1-SC with a 3 core IC installed ~8-10 psi. It's a full weight car ~3700 lb race weight. Ran 14.1-14.2 @ 96-97 mph on street tires NA. 2.0x 60' is the norm.
Anyways, the stock replacement clutch just spins in 3rd or 4th gear (2nd just blows the tires off). Everyone has been recommending the stage 3, but then saying it's really grabby.
I make ~30-50 runs at the track each year and will be doing so with either regular street radials or something more towards an autocross (R-compound) tire. I'm not planning of slicks or DRs.
Will a SPEC stage 2 hold the power alright(guessing 350-400 rwhp and 425+ rwtq)? I don't care about "chirping" gears, power shifting, or dropping the clutch w/slicks at 4000 rpm, but I'm hoping to keep my WC T5 alive for a little while and get some 1.8x or 1.9x 60's.
Also, do you think the stage 2 would help in launching (vs stage3)as it won't grab as hard?
