I just transplanted a 700r4 from a 89 Astro into my 82 z28 and now it won't shift out of first gear and there is no engine braking. I'm thinking throttle valve but it worked fine in the van. if it is the tv how much of a hassle is it gonna be and what exactly am I looking for? Any help would be appreciated, summer's almost here........

 

I just pulled out the throttle valve assy and I'm wondering if the spring is supposed to be holding the valve against the roll pin, is the valve supposed to be under a load?
