hey we just took my car out of the shed for the first time the other day after a complete rebuild, it is an 89 z with a 305 tbi along with a t5 tranney we picked up at a car show. when i put the car into first gear and release the clutch(mechancial) the gear grinds and seems to attempt to kick the shifter out of first, and ideas what this could be? all of the other gears work fine... thought i'd ask maybe it's a common fix

 

check the fluid and use dexron 3

 

an 89 f body shouldn't have a mechanical clutch if it does i'd inspect check all the hardwear in the clutch linkage
