ok guys I have a 1989 Turbo Trans Am

now I got a huge opportunity from a vendor to buy a fully built billet trans

I want to swap out the 2004R and put in a 700R4

besides the adapter plate which is sold at a company called TCI

what else do I need to do?

I heard its an easy swap, but what needs to be changed and such?

The crossmember is different for the 700R4 and the wire connector for the lockup convertor is diffferent.
Oh yeah I would hold on to that old crossmember for the 2004R just in case you want to switch back because they are very rare or sell it.
